Evanston resident robbed after attending a party
An Evanston teen was involved in a strong arm robbery last Friday as he left a party in the 2300 block of Central Park Avenue.
The 17-year-old was approached by four 16- to 18-year-old men in a vehicle. The men punched the teen in the head once and took $15 he had in his hand, as well as his iPhone. The teen said the men attempted to take his keys but were unable to do so. He then went back to the home of a friend who had accompanied him to the party.
The incident allegedly occurred at 10:30 p.m. Friday, but the teen and his father reported it to the Evanston Police Department on Sunday, EPD Cmdr. Jay Parrott said.
Copper gutters stolen from Evanston religious school
Three copper gutters were removed from the St. Athanasius Parish and St. Athanasius School, both located in the 2500 block of Ashland Drive.
The gutters, which are valued at more than $500, were taken from the north side of the buildings: one from the north side alley and two from the north side courtyard. There have been several incidents involving theft at other Evanston religious institutions during the past several weeks, Parrott said.
