Elderly woman robbed while walking on Main Street
An 80-year-old Evanston woman was robbed after leaving a bank Tuesday morning.
At around 11:15 a.m., the woman had left the Charter One Bank at the intersection of Main Street and Chicago Avenue and was heading west on Main Street. A man, approximately 18 to 22 years of age and wearing a hooded sweatshirt, approached the woman and forcibly took her purse, according to a news release.
The man fled with two other subjects into an alley before entering a vehicle and leaving the area. The woman was not injured.
More than 350 grams of cocaine recovered during search
EPD narcotics detectives executed Monday a search warrant in the 700 block of Reba Place as part of an investigation into illegal drug sales.
About 365 grams of cocaine, in both powder and rock form, and more than $15,000 were recovered at the apartment. Officers also arrested 24-year-old Tracy Miller, a convicted felon currently on parole. Miller was charged with two felonies: possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance, according to a news release.
The arrestee is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 30 in Skokie.
