Last fall bulk trash pick-up day is Friday

The city will pick up 6 cubic yards per household of bulk garbage free of charge Friday, the last scheduled day this fall.

Items must meet basic size requirements of 6 cubic yards, about the size of two couches, four chairs or one mattress and box spring, according to a city news release.  Anything larger will be subject to an additional fee, and residents are instructed to call 311 for special pick-up.

The city’s Streets and Sanitation Division will not accept hazardous material, including batteries and paint. Glass should be boxed, taped and labeled. Bulk trash must be placed on the curb by 7 a.m. Friday, according to the release.
