Blotter: Woman beaten with a bat

Police responded to the 1500 block of Oak Avenue on Wednesday evening after a woman reported that she had been beaten by another woman with a small wooden bat, Evanston Police Cmdr. Tom Guenther said.

Earlier that night, the woman drove to her residence with two friends and parked in front of the building. She remained in the car while her friends went in to retrieve items from the apartment. Once alone, the woman observed another female in front of the building threatening her. The woman then approached the car while yelling obscenities. When she reached the car, she opened the car door and began beating the woman’s arms and legs with a bat before fleeing the area.

According to police, the resident’s friends were acquaintances.
