Two people tried to take fabric from an Evanston fabric store Friday afternoon, police said.
The pair, a 6-foot-4-inch man wearing glasses and a 4-foot-8-inch woman with black and blond braids, attempted to carry two bolts of fabric out of Vogue Fabrics, 718 Main St., Evanston Police Cmdr. Tom Guenther said.
When a manager notified store employees, the man and woman stopped, leaving the nearly 1,000 yards of fabric in the store as they drove away in a ’90s Nissan, Guenther said.
