Why the name change? Is it really a popular opinion to change the school name to something like The Medill School of Journalism and Integrated Marketing Communications for Kids Who Want to Read and Write Good and Do Other Stuff Good Too? Please don’t even consider changing the Medill name. Everyone who graduates with a Medill degree works really hard to be able to write “The Medill School of Journalism” on their resume and present that to employers. Just imagine if there was a name change and future grads say they’re from The Medill School of Something Writing and Editing Related But Don’t Just Say Journalism. Interviewers will ask “What ever happened to simply Medill?”- and that will be a loaded question, indeed that couldn’t be answered in a half-hour interview.
