Comedy Central show host to perform stand-up tonight

As temperatures rise and the snow around campus melts, Comedy Central’s Greg Giraldo will heat things up with stand-up comedy.

Giraldo will perform tonight at 8 p.m. in Technological Institute’s LR3. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the Norris University Center Box Office and at the door.

Giraldo has his own show on Comedy Central and is a frequent guest on the channel’s “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn.”

The event was scheduled for two weeks ago, but Giraldo had a last-minute, work-related conflict. The Residence Hall Association, the performance’s sponsor, rescheduled to accommodate Giraldo and to sell more tickets, said RHA Vice President Mike Ryan, a Weinberg junior.

“Our board was really happy with Greg and thought he was a good, young comedian,” he said.

Communication junior Nina Mariano said she expects students will attend the comedy show.

“I know a bunch of people who are going because they heard (Giraldo) is really funny,” she said.
