Despite freezing temperatures and snowfall, community members gathered in Fountain Square Sunday afternoon to stand vigil for the recent losses to the Minneapolis community during heightened federal immigration enforcement in the Twin Cities.
Hosted by Evanston Latinos, Pink Poster Club and Sanctuary Evanston, organizers gave speeches and led attendees in song. A few crowd members held candles, while many more carried homemade signs criticizing ICE, Border Patrol and the federal government.
