Howard Chrisman named next CEO of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare

Feinberg Prof. Howard Chrisman will be the next president and chief executive officer of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Northwestern Medicine announced last week.

Chrisman has been part of the Northwestern Memorial medical staff since 1997. He has held multiple clerical, academic and administrative positions in the group and is currently president and chief operating officer of NMHC. Chrisman also served as president of Northwestern Medical Group, one of Chicago’s largest medical practices. 

Current NMHC CEO Dean Harrison will step down and take on the role of NMHC executive chair effective Jan. 1, 2023. 

“Mr. Harrison will support Dr. Chrisman to advance Northwestern Medicine’s strategic goals and Patients First mission,” Northwestern Memorial HealthCare said in a statement to Becker’s Hospital Review.
