Sean Kingston will perform at Dillo Day as the sixth main stage artist, Mayfest Productions announced Tuesday.

“As someone who still has Kingston’s guest appearance on Disney Channel’s ‘The Suite Life on Deck’ permanently etched into his memory, I can’t wait to reawaken my childhood nostalgia by hearing ‘Dumb Love’ performed live on the Lakefill this Saturday,” Medill freshman and Mayfest general member Nathan Dent  said. “I’m absolutely thrilled that we’re bringing him to Dillo this year.”

Dillo Day, the nation’s largest student-run music festival, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. To commemorate the festival’s origins, this year’s theme is “Return to the Rodeo.”

Kingston is known for top songs like “Fire Burning” and “Beautiful Girls.” The Miami-born American-Jamaican artist has topped Billboard’s Hot 100 with his unique blend of pop with R&B and reggae.

“Kingston’s set is going to be nonstop banger after banger,”  SESP sophomore and Mayfest talent buyer Armaan Ajani said.“It’s so exciting to be bringing such an iconic figure from everyone’s childhood to most people’s first in-person Dillo Day. For me, no feeling is going to beat hearing everyone sing along to ‘Fire Burning.’”

Tickets for Dillo Day, which is on Saturday, are free for undergraduate students, $15 for undergraduate guests and $25 for Northwestern alumni and graduate students. Attendees can reserve tickets through the Norris Box Office website until Friday.
