Evanston Police Department officers responded to a report of two burglaries from Target at 1616 Sherman Ave. in downtown Evanston on Tuesday evening.

On Monday, a 20-year-old male Evanston resident placed two bottles of liquor in a bag, walked past the checkout area and exited the store without paying, said Evanston police communications coordinator Perry Polinski.

On Tuesday, another unidentified man stole stereo equipment from the same Target, using the same bag, which was half white and half blue, with a blue strap.

There is currently no additional information about the second theft, but an investigator is following up and reviewing surveillance video footage, Polinski said.

Officers responded to a report of a theft in the 1800 block of Emerson Street at around 8 p.m. on Monday.

The 35-year-old female resident reported an outdoor heater, valued at around $200, stolen from her backyard patio sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning, Polinski said.

There is currently no additional information about the person who took the heater, he added.
