A man was arrested Sunday morning in connection with domestic battery in south Evanston.

Police arrived at the 1100 block of Sherman Avenue in response to a domestic dispute, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said. A 56-year-old woman said a verbal argument with her husband turned physical when he grabbed her around the neck, scratching her.

The woman pepper sprayed the man, Dugan said. He was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery.

Man arrested in connection with assault in south Evanston

A man was arrested Sunday night in connection with assault in south Evanston.

A 45-year-old woman called police after her boyfriend threatened to kill her, Dugan said. She hid in her bedroom until police arrived to the home on the 700 block of Reba Place.

The man was charged with assault, a misdemeanor.
