Police responded to reports that six shots were fired in the 1000 block of McDaniel Avenue Wednesday night.

The Skokie Police Department also received similar reports in the area of Christina Avenue and Lee Street, Evanston Police Department spokesman Perry Polinski said.

Both departments checked the area at approximately 7 p.m. but no evidence was found, Polinski said.

Commercial van stolen overnight Wednesday

A white commercial van was stolen from the 1900 block of Greenwood Street on Wednesday night, police said.

The owner reported the van missing Thursday morning at approximately 9:30 a.m., police said. The van — a 1996 Ford — had a ladder rack on its roof and a sheet metal covering the back window, an employee told police.

It was unclear whether or not the van was locked, Polinski said.
