Shake Shack to open at Old Orchard mall
September 4, 2015
Shake Shack — known for its burgers, crinkle cut fries and shakes — will open Wednesday at the Westfield Old Orchard shopping center.
The branch will join many other restaurants in the mall, which is located in Skokie and is accessible to Northwestern students via shuttles that run through campus.
The restaurant is Shake Shack’s third location in the Chicago area. The chain, which started in 2004 in New York, prides itself as a “modern day ‘roadside’ burger stand.”
Aside from a variety of custard concretes, burgers and hot dogs, the restaurant will have an extensive beer and wine menu.
The Old Orchard location is partnering with an organization called The Talking Farm, an educational nonprofit that produces local fresh food, and will donate a percentage of sales to the charity.
The branch will open its doors at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
