Construction workers found anti-Semitic and racist graffiti at the construction site of the new Kellogg School of Management building Monday, police said.

The graffiti, which has been categorized as a hate crime, was spray-painted onto walls, floors and construction equipment at the site sometime between 3 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Monday, University Police Deputy Chief Dan McAleer said.

Workers at the site took pictures of the graffiti before removing it and calling police, McAleer said. Police who arrived at the scene Monday afternoon were able to verify the presence of the graffiti from the pictures.

The construction company estimates the graffiti removal will cost approximately $1,000.

Multiple incidents of anti-Semitic and racist graffiti were reported at University Library in April.
