An Evanston man was shot in his apartment building shortly after midnight Monday, police said.

The man, 29, was shot in the finger and leg by one bullet in his residence in the 800 block of Seward Street, police said. He was transported to Presence Saint Francis Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The incident involved two people entering the building through the rear door to confront the man, police said. A small amount of illegal drugs was recovered at the scene.

At this time, there is no indication that this was a random act, police said. Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the department.
