Police arrest two after executing search warrant in south Evanston

Police arrested two Evanston residents after executing a search warrant with assistance from the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System on Wednesday in south Evanston.

Officers executed the search warrant in the 1400 block of Brummel Avenue on Wednesday, Evanston Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott said. During the search police uncovered a firearm and about 30 grams of cannabis. One of the residents, 21, was arrested in connection with possessing a gun without a valid Firearm Owners Identification and the other resident, 36, was charged with cannabis possession.

Both are scheduled to appear in court May 29.

Television thrown into car windshield

Someone threw a television against the windshield of a car on Tuesday in the 1600 block of Fowler Avenue, police said.

The offender’s vehicle was identified and detectives are investigating the incident, Parrott said.
