Flower pots overturned on back porch
Someone knocked over flower pots on an Evanston woman’s porch Monday night or Tuesday morning, according to police.
The 43-year-old woman reported the pots were overturned between 6 p.m. and 7:25 a.m. on the back porch of her house in the 1000 block of Washington Street, Evanston Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott said.
The woman named a suspect, Parrott said.
Cab driver’s cell phone taken while he slept
A cab driver’s cell phone was stolen Saturday night while he slept in his car near Main Street, according to police.
Parrott said the 42-year-old driver had dozed off while waiting for a customer in the 900 block of Grey Avenue. His iPhone was taken between 7 and 8 p.m.
The phone was stolen through an open window while the car was parked in an alley, according to police.
The driver, who is from Waukegan, reported the incident three days later, Parrott said.
