After moving in Monday, the Class of 2017 and transfer students wasted no time learning campus traditions — both old and new.

On Tuesday morning, the new students participated in the fifth annual March through the Arch. After they were cheered on by parents and peer advisers, the freshmen and transfer students spent the afternoon at Millennium Park. This is the first year Wildcat Welcome brought students to the Chicago landmark.

New students toured the park, taking pictures at iconic sculptures such as “The Bean.” They then prepared for Saturday’s football game by learning about NU athletic traditions. Wildcat Welcome activities will continue through Sept. 23.
