University Police on Wednesday finished moving into its new headquarters, 1201 Davis St. It plans to officially open the relocated office this fall.

University Police completed its move Wednesday to a larger space west of downtown Evanston, Chief Bruce Lewis said.

The new headquarters, 1201 Davis St., is farther from the Northwestern campus but offers about 10 times more room.

In July, Deputy Chief Daniel McAleer called the move “desperately needed.”

UP is planning public tours of the relocated office when it officially opens this fall.

The Evanston campus parking office will remain in the building it shared with UP at 1819 Hinman Ave.
