Woman arrested at Evanston Public Library
Police arrested a 43-year-old woman at the Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave., on Monday afternoon for trespassing on state property, Evanston Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott said.
After Cindy Jordan caused a disturbance the previous day, the library manager asked Jordan to leave and to not return, Parrott said.
Jordan returned to the library Monday, and police charged her with trespassing, a misdemeanor.
She is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
Burglar steals items from Evanston woman’s home
Someone broke into a 34-year-old Evanston woman’s home in the 700 block of Greenleaf Street on Tuesday afternoon, Parrott said.
The woman returned home and had trouble opening the front door. When she finally entered, the woman noticed her bedroom furniture’s drawer on the kitchen table, Parrott said.
The burglar kicked open the back door of the home leading to the kitchen. The woman could not identify what was stolen, but said she will contact police when she finds out what is missing, Parrott said.
