Paintings stolen from apartment building
A set of paintings in a brown box was stolen from the lobby of an apartment building in the 2200 block of Ridge Avenue.
The package was stolen sometime between 11 a.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday, said Evanston Police Spokesman Cmdr. Jay Parrott.
The box was kept inside behind locked doors. The owner of the package, an Evanston resident, saw it in the lobby on Friday morning but was unable to retrieve it at that time. When she returned the next morning, it was gone.
