Des Plaines man shot in possible gang-related incident

A 20-year-old Des Plaines resident was shot Saturday afternoon in west Evanston during what police are calling a gang-related incident.

The man was walking with three others when an unknown gunman shot him and then fled from the scene on foot, according to a news release issued Saturday by the Evanston Police Department.

Evanston Police found the man lying in front of a house on the 1800 block of Lyons Street. He was treated for two gunshot wounds at Evanston Hospital and released a few hours later.

The wounded man has not cooperated with Evanston Police during their investigation, according to the release.
