Two men charged with attempted theft
Evanston Police Department officers charged two men with attempted retail theft at Best Buy in the 2300 block of Howard Street on Wednesday.
Best Buy employees reported the two men to police, said EPD spokesman Cmdr. Jay Parrott. They said while one man brought his computer to the Geek Squad and distracted the employee, the other man attempted to steal Best Buy computers. However, the two subjects left without taking any goods.
The two men were not arrested because they did not actually commit theft, Parrott said.
