Northwestern’s Minority Awareness and Registry Organization for Marrow is holding a registration drive for potential bone marrow donors, a regular feature of its annual Marrow Week. The drive aims to encourage members of the Northwestern community to join the Be The Match Registry, a database that catalogues information on potential marrow donors for the National Marrow Donor Program.
“It can change lives,” said Chloe Woodhouse, the co-president of MARO.
MARO has registered around 105 people, and it is on target to register about 175 or 200 people for the week’s drive, the Weinberg sophomore said. The group is operating registration tables from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday through Wednesday at Norris University Center and the dining hall at Foster-Walker Complex.
