Q&A with NU alumni and Cannes-bound filmmakers of ‘Language of the Unheard’

Never has it been said that the best way to get to France is through South Dakota, but recent graduates Jacqueline Reyno (Comm ’11), Matthew Litwiller (Comm ’11) and Travis LaBella (Comm ’11)made it happen anyway. Since winning the Inspire Film Grant in May 2010, the three co-producers have been traveling around the continent to screen their short documentary Language of the Unheard, which focuses on four Native Americans from the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. The film already has been accepted into 11 film festivals, including a place at the Cannes Short Film Corner in France.
