After a day off, Northwestern was back on the practice field Thursday in its second to last week of spring practice. Check out videos from quarterback Kain Colter and coach Pat Fitzgerald. Full videos and highlights are below.

• Fitzgerald said that Tyler Scott and Brian Arnfelt have impressed him this spring on defense.
• Fitzgerald talked at length about Wisconsin transfer quarterback Danny O’Brien. He said he didn’t fault Badgers coach Bret Bielema for taking advantage of the situation, but isn’t a fan of the rule.
• Colter talked about taking over the offense from Dan Persa and what it feels like to be an upper classmen and a leader. Fitzgerald has been impressed with his growth in that respect.
• Fitzgerald has been impressed with Trevor Siemian’s maturation at quarterback this offseason.
• Colter has been impressed with his receiving corps so far. Fitzgerald called the receivers “damn good.”
• Colter said that since he thinks he’s more of a runner than Dan Persa was, NU may run more option plays and quarterback runs. Fitzgerald didn’t elaborate on that.
