Man arrested in connection with drug possession
Evanston police charged a Chicago man with possession of drug paraphernalia Sunday, Evanston Police Department spokesman Jay Parrott said.
Officers arrested the 50-year-old when they saw him drinking a bottle of beer at Juneway Terrace Park, 5455 N. Sheridan Road, Parrott said. They performed a search on the man and found a plastic bag containing less than 2.5 grams of cannabis, two pipes and a glass bowl with drug residue.
Police charged the man with possession of alcohol in a park, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. He will appear in court March 28.
