Woman reports ongoing threats

An employee at 7-Eleven, 817 Davis St., flagged down officers on patrol Thursday to report she had been harassed at work.

The employee told police a woman she knew came into the store sometime between 7 and 7:40 p.m. and began to threaten her with possible bodily harm, Evanston Police Department Cmdr. Tom Guenther said. The employee said the threats have been ongoing for about six months and had evolved from a dispute originating on Facebook.

Guenther said the 7-Eleven employee only wanted police to document the incident for future reference if necessary.

Man reports curbside theft

An Evanston man approached the Evanston Police Department front desk Thursday to report the theft of a bag containing cash and items valued at more than $800, Guenther said.

The man told police he had placed his black Samsonite rolling bag on the curb on the 1500 block of Florence Avenue, stepped away for several moments and then returned to find it had disappeared.

The contents of the bag included $800, 30 popcorn sales checks, a Verizon Wireless internet router, an iPhone and a laptop adapter.
