Juvenile robbers arrested

Five teenagers, ages 13 to 15, were arrested Wednesday for allegedly robbing two people at Emerson Street and Brown Avenue.

At approximately 12:25 p.m., Evanston police responded to a house in which the thieves were witnessed entering and subsequently found five teens whom the two people identified as the burglars. Police also recovered money and a cell phone which had been stolen from the people.

However, police were unable to recover a handgun which the people reported had been used in the robbery.

The five teens were all charged with aggravated robbery and taken into custody.

Man held in home intruder investigation

An unknown male entered the bedroom of a 16-year-old girl while she slept early Thursday morning.

The man allegedly threw a blanket over the girl and grabbed her legs. The girl then screamed and alerted the other residents of the house. The intruder then fled the scene.

Before this incident was reported, a police patrol officer in the area observed a suspicious person running near Forest Street and Main Street. When the officer tried to stop the person for questioning, the man attempted to elude him.

The man was later found hiding in a bush in the 700 block of Forest Avenue and is being held as a person of interest in ongoing investigations of the home intruder call.
