Last year, during a new, two-quarter long class at Northwestern called NUvention: Web, a group of undergraduate and graduate students developed this website for their class project. After receiving feedback from the Northwestern Alumni community, four members continued to work on the project including Communication junior Jeff Eiden. The company has officially existed since May 2010.
Present Bee connects to users’ Facebook.com accounts and allows them to type in one of their friend’s names. In no time, it provides gift suggestions for the every day and the holidays which users can purchase right there on the site. This “social wish list” already has 1,000 users.
“We saw the concept as something that provided a lot of value to people,” Eiden said. “Gifting is something that everyone struggles with.”
