Chapel door left open, officials investigate for suspicious activity
Officers on patrol early Monday morning found a door to the Alice Millar Chapel wide open, police said.
The southeast door of the chapel, 1870 Sheridan Rd., was secured by officers after they searched the area for criminal activity and found nothing suspicious, University Police Deputy Chief Daniel McAleer said.Student’s heirloom bike stolen after several days locked outside Chapin
A male NU student’s bicycle was stolen at some point during a three-day period, police said.
The student left his bike unlocked at a rack behind Chapin Residential College, 726 University Place, the afternoon of Nov. 6 and returned the morning of Nov. 9 to find it missing, McAleer said.
The student described the bike as an old, gray model that has been in his family for many years, police said.
The incident was reported Monday evening. Police have closed the case, McAleer said.- GRACE JOHNSON
