NU faculty member taken to hospital after bicycle accident
A female Northwestern student and a female NU faculty member collided on their bicycles near the Rock Wednesday evening, police said.
The student was unharmed and refused treatment, while the faculty member reported feeling pain in her head and left arm. Officers noted blood in these areas. The faculty member was taken in an ambulance shortly before 7:30 p.m. to Evanston Hospital, 2650 Ridge Ave., where she received further treatment, said University Police Chief Daniel McAleer.
THE DAILY reported on the incident shortly after it occurred. Police released more information on the incident Thursday.
The bikers were riding their bikes toward each other on the west side of University Hall, 1897 Sheridan Road, and could not stop in time to prevent a collision, McAleer said.
