An Evanston resident reported his dog stolen Monday, police said.
The dog, “Deacon,” is a six-month-old black labrador-shepherd mix, said Evanston Police Cmdr. Tom Guenther.
The owner heard the dog barking, only to go outside and find the dog gone with its collar broken, Guenther said.
Although there are no witnesses or evidence to confirm the dog was stolen, the owner stated so, police said.
There have been no similar reports in the area, Guenther said.
