NU Lacrosse headed to Final Four

With a dominant 18-11 victory over eighth-seed Princeton Saturday, top-seed Northwestern earned a spot in the Final Four of the NCAA tournament for the fourth consecutive year.

A packed house at Lakeside Field witnessed a balanced offensive attack spark the Wildcats to the win, as eight different players scored goals for NU. Juniors Hilary Bowen, Hannah Nielsen, and Casey Donohoe and sophomore Katrina Dowd all finished the game with three goals apiece.

Sophomore Danielle Spencer, who had been sidelined in the ALC tournament final on May 4 with a muscle strain, returned to the field Saturday for the first time in two weeks. Not in the starting line-up, Spencer entered the game midway through the first half and recorded a pair of goals.

The Cats will take on fifth-seed Syracuse in a semi-final match-up on May 23 in Towson, Md.
