Tyrell Sutton, a running back with Northwestern’s football team, was named one of the players to watch for the Maxwell Award’s College Player of the Year.NU’s Athletic Director Mark Murphy said Sutton is one of the most prominent NU names in college football as of lately because of his success as a first-year.”Tyrell is a very talented player,” Murphy said. “He had so much success his freshman year.”Sutton, a rising Communications junior, was named the Big 10’s Freshman of the Year in 2005, and has also received an honorable mention in SI.com’s All-American team.The award is presented each year to an outstanding football player, and is awarded by a panel of sportscasters, sportswriters, National Collegiate Athletic Association head coaches and members of the Maxwell Football Club.
