All branches of Evanston Public Library will be closed Thursday for a staff in-service day.
The library will reopen to the public at 9 a.m. Friday.
About 95 staff members are expected to attend. The in-service day is an annual event where library staff receives updated information on the city as well as addressing other issues, such as technological advances. A committee of library representatives from each branch and library department organizes the event.
Workshop and lecture topics include an informational on Evanston architecture, how to conduct an Internet search, stress management, desk aerobics, retirement training and emergency preparedness. Some presentations will be given by city staff members and the Red Cross.
