Northwestern has created a new office this year to facilitate communication among university personnel when handling changes at the university.
Jake Julia will serve as the assistant vice president for change management and director of the Office of Change Management.
The office will work toward more efficient communication in “identifying and addressing needed changes” within the university, according to a NU press release.
The office, which will report to Provost Lawrence Dumas and Senior Vice President for Business and Finance Eugene Sunshine, will help groups from different areas of NU work together to resolve issues.
“There are so many processes here at the university that cross academic and administrative lines,” Julia said. “They really interact a lot.”
He said he has been meeting with various people at NU since August to determine the agenda of the Change Management office.
Julia said his office will meet with a university advisory committee in late October to determine the office’s priorities and future projects.
“What we’re trying to do is develop priorities that really affect the core of the university: teaching, education and research,” he said.
These projects could last as long as two years.
