Northwestern’s opening day starter Joe Schindler has been suspended indefinitely by the team, coach Spencer Allen said.

After Sunday’s win over Pacific, the program announced Schindler, a junior, violated team rules and has been suspended.

The suspension comes one week after Schindler pitched five shutout innings in the Wildcats’ season-opening game against Nevada. Schindler did not pitch this weekend against Pacific.
