A federal judge terminated a civil lawsuit against Northwestern on Friday that alleged hiring practices at the Pritzker School of Law discriminated against white male candidates.
The ruling comes weeks after the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois approved the University’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit Jan. 22.
Faculty, Alumni and Students Opposed to Racial Preferences indicated that it would not issue an amended complaint, according to the Friday judgment, officially ending the civil case.
FASORP originally sued NU in July 2024, naming several white male candidates that Pritzker did not hire as faculty members. It voluntarily dismissed the case Jan. 31, 2025 and filed a similar case the next day. The Friday judgment terminates the second civil case.
