An 80-year-old woman was critically injured in Evanston on Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a car near Central Street, according to the Evanston Police Department.
The woman was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition.
EPD tweeted at 2:19 p.m. that the 2900 block of Central Street would be closed for “several hours” as it investigated the crash. The street is now open to all traffic.
