Chicago man sentenced to probation for sexually abusing woman at Evanston spa
July 10, 2018
Kai Wang, the Chicago man who was found guilty of sexually abusing a woman at an Evanston spa, was sentenced to sex offender probation Thursday, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Wang was convicted of attempted sexual assault on May 23, but acquitted of more serious sexual assault charges, Evanston Police Cmdr. Ryan Glew told The Daily in May.
Wang, 31, was arrested in October 2016 after a 19-year-old woman reported that Wang groped her at the Art of Health spa. During her massage, Wang allegedly reached under the towel, inappropriately touching the woman in the breast and vaginal area, Evanston police told The Daily in 2016.
Wang was sentenced to two years probation and must pay fees and fines of $2,500, the Tribune reported. He will also have to register as a sex offender and give a DNA sample to be entered into a law enforcement database.
