Blotter: Evanston woman arrested in connection with hit-and-run

An Evanston woman was arrested on Sunday in connection with a hit-and-run incident.

Police received calls reporting the incident at the intersection of Emerson Street and Dodge Avenue on Saturday at 8:55 p.m., Evanston police communications coordinator Perry Polinski said.

The offending vehicle was located in a garage in the 1900 block of Dodge Avenue.

The 36-year-old female driver was charged with multiple traffic violations, including disobeying a traffic signal, driving too fast for conditions, leaving the scene of accident/vehicle damage and failure to give aid or information, Polinski said.

Skokie woman arrested in connection with retail theft

A Skokie woman was arrested Monday in connection with theft of four Apple iPhone cases — valued at $71 — from Sam’s Club at 2450 Main St., Polinski said.

At 5:10 p.m., the 20-year-old was seen placing the cases in her purse and leaving the store. Once she had exited the store, she was taken into custody without incident and charged with retail theft.
