City appoints interim chief financial officer

Ryan Wangman, City Editor

The city has appointed an interim city treasurer/CFO as they begin searching to fill Marty Lyons’ old position permanently, city manager Wally Bobkiewicz told The Daily in an email.

Ashley King, Evanston’s budget and finance manager, will serve in the position until a replacement is found, Bobkiewicz said. King has worked for the city since 2012 and has served as the budget and finance manager since 2014.

Lyons, who worked with Evanston for more than nine years, left the position on Dec. 15 to take a job as CFO and treasurer for nearby Aurora.

Before working in Evanston, King was also the assistant to the town manager in Munster, Indiana. She lives in Chicago with her husband and a five-month old son.
