A Chicago woman was arrested Friday in connection with multiple traffic violations in downtown Evanston.

Officers were dispatched to a traffic accident at Church Street and Orrington Avenue, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan told The Daily in an email. The woman had sideswiped an occupied vehicle that was not moving.

She had the scent of alcohol on her breath and glassy, watery eyes, Dugan said. After performing a sobriety test, the woman was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and was given another citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
