Blotter: Armed robbery suspect at large in Evanston

Police are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery that took place on Wednesday night in south Evanston, according to a city news release.

Officers were dispatched to the CVS in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue because a cashier stated that a man came into the store and approached the counter with some candy bars, the release said.

According to the release, he man brandished a knife and went behind the counter, requesting the cashier open the drawer of the cash register. The cashier complied, and the suspect removed an unknown amount of money from the drawer before fleeing on foot.

No one was injured in the incident, and the man remains at large, the release said.
