Blotter: Chicago man arrested in connection with 2 traffic offenses

A Chicago resident was arrested in connection with two traffic offenses in west Evanston on Thursday afternoon.

The man was driving in the 2200 block of Lake Street when an officer pulled him over for using a cell phone while driving, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said. The officer also found the man to be driving with an invalid driver’s license, Dugan said.

The man was ticketed for both driving while using a mobile device and driving without a valid license.

Package stolen from south Evanston apartment building

A package was stolen from an apartment complex in south Evanston on Thursday between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The package was delivered by the post office to the complex in the 1600 block of Monroe Street, Dugan said, and contained a bra worth approximately $50.
