The Big Ten recognized seniors attacker Kaleigh Craig and defender Lauren Murray this week, awarding the pair of Wildcats with Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.

This is the second week in a row Craig has been honored by the conference. She won Defensive Player of the Week honors two weeks ago for her shut-down defense against Michigan and Notre Dame. Craig scored 9 goals last week, recording 3 against USC and 6 against Rutgers. She leads the team with 36 goals and 44 points.

The league named Murray the Defensive Player of the Week after the senior snagged two ground balls against the Trojans and scooped up another three against the Scarlet Knights. Murray also caused two turnovers against Rutgers. Along with her hustle on the defensive side of the ball, the defender added 2 goals of her own in the team’s 20-4 win over the Scarlet Knights.

No. 12 Northwestern (7-7, 2-1 Big Ten) only has two games remaining in the regular season before the conference tournament begins, and will travel to State College to take on No. 14 Penn State on Saturday. The Cats must finish at least .500 to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
