Woman forcefully robbed of phone

A woman was robbed in south Evanston by two other women early Saturday.

The woman exited the Purple Line train at the Chicago Transit Authority Main Street Station, 836 Chicago Ave., when she noticed two younger women following her, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said. The women confronted the 28-year-old in the 800 block of Judson Avenue and demanded her phone around 12:05 a.m. One of the women pulled her hair, while she struggled to maintain possession of her phone, police said. Eventually, the two women took her phone, a white iPhone 6 worth about $600, police said.

The two women fled the area and were not located. Police are following up with the CTA to check video surveillance, Dugan said.
