New student board to promote diversity among Northwestern student groups

Alice Yin, Assistant Campus Editor

A new board that will work with student groups to promote inclusivity is slated to begin in early March.

Called the InclusionNU Funding Board, the group will consist of five undergraduate students and one adviser from the Department of Campus Inclusion and Community staff. It will work with the department to help fund programming that involves different identities within and between student groups.

The new funding policies will be enacted as early as March 1, 2015. Students gave feedback at the Multicultural Student Affairs’ initial presentation of the board during its fall Roundtable. The board will replace Multicultural Student Affairs’ current funding process.

The new funding procedures will be discussed Dec. 3, along with information on opportunities to serve on the board.
